”Documentary on Becoming Led Zeppelin to Debut in Theaters”

A long-awaited documentary titled ‘Becoming Led Zeppelin’ is set to finally hit theaters after being acquired by Sony Pictures Classics for North American release. The film, which last premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2021, provides a glimpse into the iconic British rock band Led Zeppelin, featuring interviews with band members Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, and John Paul Jones, along with unreleased footage of the late John Bonham. Additionally, the documentary includes newly discovered archival materials such as home videos and family photos of all four members.

Audiences can anticipate never-before-seen footage of Led Zeppelin concerts at the Fillmore West, the Atlanta Pop Festival, and the Texas Pop Festival from 1969 to be included in the film. Jimmy Page expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating that the energy and music showcased in the documentary are truly remarkable.

Director Bernard MacMahon emphasized the importance of experiencing the film on the big screen with top-notch sound quality. Sony Pictures Classics also secured rights for release in other regions such as Latin America, Southeast Asia (excluding Japan), the Middle East, and Benelux, ensuring a global reach for the film.

Written by MacMahon and producer Allison McGourty, ‘Becoming Led Zeppelin’ was produced by Paradise Pictures in collaboration with Big Beach, boasting a lineup of executive producers including Michael Clark, Alex Turtletaub, Duke Erikson, Cynthia Heusing, David Kistenbroker, Simon Moran, and Ged Doherty. The film was edited by Dan Gitlin, with sound re-recording mix by Nick Bergh and sound restoration by Peter Henderson.
