Discussion between UAE President and Romanian Prime Minister on enhancing bilateral relations

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed Romanian Prime Minister Ion-Marcel Ciolacu on a working visit to the UAE. The two leaders met at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi to discuss opportunities for cooperation in crucial sectors such as economy, trade, renewable energy, food security, and technology.

During the meeting, they also addressed major regional and international issues of common interest, with a focus on reducing escalation in the Middle East and efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip to enhance the humanitarian response.

Sheikh Mohamed emphasized the long-standing relations between the UAE and Romania, highlighting the continuous growth that benefits the development and progress of both nations. Ciolacu expressed Romania’s interest in deepening ties with the UAE, particularly in economic and investment fields, to learn from the country’s inspiring development experience.

The leaders witnessed the signing of two memoranda of understanding, one related to artificial intelligence and the digital economy, and another between the UAE Telecommunications & Digital Government Regulatory Authority and Romania’s National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications.

Overall, the visit aimed to strengthen bilateral cooperation and create opportunities for mutual growth and development between the UAE and Romania.
