“Director Michelle McLaren believed Jonathan Banks was the perfect fit for Apple TV+ series ‘Constellation'”

Michelle McLaren, the director of the Apple TV+ series “Constellation,” recently shared her thoughts on why she believed Jonathan Banks was perfect for his dual roles in the show. McLaren, who had previously worked with Banks on “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul,” recognized his talent immediately. She noted that while Banks is known for his role as Mike Ehrmantraut, it was his versatility and willingness to take on different characters that made her confident he would excel in the roles of Henry and Bud in “Constellation.”

In the series, which debuted last week, Banks plays two different characters in a world that has undergone significant changes. McLaren emphasized Banks’ ability to tackle any role he sets his mind to and praised his commitment and energy on set. She mentioned that Banks was eager to take on the challenge of portraying two distinct characters and quickly accepted the role after reading the script.

The official synopsis for “Constellation” describes the story of a lone astronaut who returns to Earth after a fatal accident on the International Space Station, only to find that her life, including her relationship with her daughter, has been altered. The show premiered on February 21st, with the first three episodes released globally, followed by weekly episodes every Wednesday until March 27th on Apple TV+.

McLaren’s insights into Banks’ talent and dedication shed light on the actor’s ability to captivate audiences with his performances in unique and diverse roles. The dynamic nature of “Constellation” provides Banks with the opportunity to showcase his acting prowess and explore new depths as an actor.
