Cravath Law Firm Will Relocate to Hudson Yards

A prestigious New York law firm, Cravath, Swaine & Moore, has made the decision to leave its Midtown offices and relocate to Hudson Yards, according to a report by the Financial Times. This move follows in the footsteps of other renowned firms such as Cooley, Skadden Arps, and Debevoise & Plimpton, who have also made the move westward. The shift comes at a time when Midtown is facing challenges, with vacancy rates reaching an all-time high of nearly 23 percent.

Interestingly, Cravath’s decision to move predates the pandemic and is geared towards creating a modern work environment that aligns with the preferences of younger attorneys. The law firm will be anchoring Brookfield’s Two Manhattan West, a skyscraper located near Penn Station. The new office space boasts amenities such as an onsite cafĂ©, “Barista Bar,” and a “lactation suite.”

This strategic relocation signifies a trend among top law firms to adapt to changing work dynamics and cater to the evolving needs of their workforce. By moving to Hudson Yards, Cravath and other firms are positioning themselves in a vibrant and growing business hub while providing their employees with a contemporary and appealing workspace.
