“cPort Credit Union Partners with Co-op ATM Network to Benefit Members in Maine”
Velera, formerly known as PSCU/Co-op Solutions, a leading credit union service organization and financial technology solutions provider, has announced that cPort Credit Union has joined the Co-op ATM network. This move not only gives members of cPort access to 32,000 fee-free ATMs nationwide but also significantly increases the number of network ATMs available to members of all participating credit unions in Maine.
The Co-op ATM network in Maine has been experiencing rapid growth in recent years. In March 2022, the network added 60 ATMs in Hannaford Supermarket locations across the state. With cPort now part of the network, the total number of ATMs in Maine exceeds 180. cPort is set to go live with its network participation in Fall 2024.
Jennifer Bouchard, vice president of Branch Operations for cPort, expressed excitement about the convenience this partnership brings to members. She highlighted that members can now access a surcharge-free ATM anywhere in the state and across the country. Additionally, by joining the network, cPort’s ATMs are now available to members of other participating credit unions, demonstrating the collaborative nature of the credit union movement.
cPort Credit Union, located in Portland, is one of Maine’s fastest-growing credit unions, serving over 30,000 members in the southernmost counties of the state through its five branches in Portland, Augusta, and Scarborough.
Brian Scott, EVP and Chief Growth Officer for Velera, emphasized that the Co-op ATM network, with over 32,000 machines nationwide, is the largest credit union-owned ATM network in the U.S. The continuous addition of new ATMs to the network enhances its value as a service to members. Scott highlighted Maine as one of the most active areas in the Co-op Shared Branch network, with the expanded ATM footprint making access to Co-op ATM even more convenient.
The Co-op ATM network, with nearly 7,500 deposit-taking ATMs and 2,000 participating credit unions, surpasses any commercial bank network in size. It offers various locator services on its website, including the Co-op Shared Branch network, consisting of 5,400 locations where members can conduct account-related transactions as if they were in their own branch.
