Collaboration to offer electric vehicle charging at HCT campuses
Etihad Water and Electricity (EtihadWE) has entered into a partnership with the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) to provide electric vehicle charging stations on HCT campuses. This collaboration supports the UAE’s sustainability goals and is part of the launch of UAEV, a joint venture between EtihadWE and the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure.
The electric vehicle charging stations to be installed on HCT campuses will include advanced charging systems that offer fast and reliable charging options. The agreement was signed by representatives from both EtihadWE and HCT, highlighting the commitment to environmental sustainability and green transport systems.
The charging stations at HCT will feature state-of-the-art technology, including fast chargers and a robust digital backend to optimize charging efficiency. This partnership aligns with HCT’s sustainability framework and aims to encourage the use of electric and hybrid vehicles among staff and students.
The UAE has seen a significant increase in electric vehicle adoption, with the number of EVs on the road rising rapidly. This transition to electric vehicles is expected to have positive impacts on multiple sectors and contribute to the country’s economic growth and environmental goals. This collaboration between EtihadWE and HCT is a step towards a greener and more sustainable future for the UAE.
