‘Collaboration to accelerate digital transformation in UAE’
DP World, UAE Region and Dubai Customs have joined forces to speed up the digitization process at the Port of Jebel Ali by introducing Automation of Entry Certificates. This move is part of a larger initiative aimed at enhancing efficiency and reducing waste.
With the implementation of this new system, approximately 250,000 physical documents will be eliminated each year, aligning with Smart Dubai’s Paperless Strategy. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director General of Dubai Customs, expressed their enthusiasm for this collaboration, highlighting Dubai Customs’ plans to automate customs procedures and utilize advanced technology to streamline processes, ultimately saving customers time and money.
Musabih emphasized the importance of digital technologies in the supply chain, especially in light of the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. By introducing the Entry Certificate Automation, customers will have a more convenient and seamless experience, enabling them to submit refund claims immediately after export without the need for physical paperwork.
Abdulla Bin Damithan, CEO & Managing Director of DP World – UAE Region and Jafza, emphasized the role of Automation of Entry Services in addressing the challenges brought about by the pandemic. Embracing a contactless approach, this initiative aims to reduce operational strain and costs while ensuring a safe and secure environment for all stakeholders.
