‘Children’s Reading Festival in Sharjah to feature three theatrical events’

The 15th annual Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival (SCRF) is set to host three captivating theatrical experiences as part of its 12-day cultural extravaganza. Taking place from 1st to 12th May at the Expo Centre Sharjah, the festival will feature a lineup of multilingual and multicultural plays that aim to engage and entertain audiences of all ages.

Under the theme ‘Once Upon a Hero,’ SCRF 2024 will offer a total of 1,400 events and activities that promise to spark creativity and enchant young minds with the magic of storytelling. The three theatrical productions showcased at the festival are designed to stimulate thought and inspire a love for the arts.

One of the highlights of the festival is the interactive play “Your Choice,” which will be staged in the SCRF Ballroom in Hall 5 on 10-11 May from 19:30 to 21:00. Set in an art school, the play follows a group of students as they navigate their dreams and aspirations, with the audience playing a key role in shaping the narrative. This immersive experience encourages creativity and collaboration, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who attends. The play will also run on 12th May from 18:00 to 19:30.

Organized by the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), SCRF is the largest event in the region dedicated to fostering a love for reading and imagination among young audiences. With a diverse range of cultural, artistic, and educational activities, SCRF continues to inspire and educate participants in its 15th edition.
