‘Charter flight from Slovakia lands in Aqaba’

A group of Slovak tourists arrived in Aqaba on a charter flight, signaling the start of a weekly flight supported by the Jordan Tourism Board. The flight, organized by Hydro Waters in collaboration with Al Jisr Company, tourism, and Travel Jordanian Agent, landed at King Hussein International Airport with 110 tourists on board.

Hamza Hajj Hassan, Deputy Chairman of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority and Commissioner for Investment and Tourism, highlighted the strategic plans in place to attract tourist groups to Aqaba. The authority has been implementing artistic and entertainment events to cater to both local and international visitors and residents, exceeding expectations during holidays and special occasions.

Various activities such as swimming, water sports, and visits to historical and heritage museums are offered, with the Aqaba Bird Observatory being a major attraction for migratory birds. Additionally, trips to Wadi Rum for sunset views, stargazing, and the unique pink sand have become popular among tourists visiting the region.

Ahmed Krishan from the Jordan Tourism Board mentioned that these regular flights will attract more international airlines to operate in Aqaba. The efforts to promote tourism through charter flights indicate a positive recovery in tourism activity, despite regional challenges.

Overall, the resumption of charter flights to Aqaba marks a significant step in attracting tourists to the region and promoting the diverse attractions it has to offer.
