‘Celebration of ‘Maestro’ at the Oscars with Yannick Nézet-Séguin’

Metropolitan Opera Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin made a stylish appearance at the Academy Awards on March 10, 2024, representing the film “Maestro.” Accompanied by his husband Pierre Tourville, the conductor stood out in a white Yves Saint Laurent suit.

Leading up to the awards season, Nézet-Séguin had been busy attending major events such as the Venice Film Festival, the Toronto International Film Festival, and the LA premiere of “Maestro” to promote the film. Despite being nominated for seven Academy Awards, “Maestro” did not take home any trophies.

Nézet-Séguin was not the only classical musician at the event, as tenor Andrea Bocelli took the stage during the in-memoriam segment alongside his son Matteo Bocelli. The duo performed their classical popera song “Time to Say Goodbye,” which was celebrating its 30th anniversary.
