“Cao Fei is Pushing the Boundaries of Humanity”

Visual artist Cao Fei, known for her forward-thinking work that reflects shifts in perception and reality, is being honored at SCAD deFINE ART. Her immersive multimedia installation at the SCAD Museum of Art includes live-action films and virtual, augmented, and mixed-reality environments. By blurring boundaries between physical and digital worlds, Cao Fei explores how our surroundings shape our identities and interactions. The exhibition invites visitors to reconsider the meaning and purpose of life in our increasingly technological society.

Born in Guangzhou, China in 1978, Cao Fei has exhibited her work internationally at prestigious institutions such as the MAXXI National Museum of XXI Century Arts, the Serpentine Galleries, and MoMA PS1. She has been recognized with awards such as the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize, highlighting her significant contribution to the contemporary art world.
