Bright, Modern Tudor Home Perfect for Hosting Slumber Parties in Indianapolis

A talented designer, Heidi Woodman, took on the challenge of creating character in a blank canvas Indianapolis property for a family who cherished the charisma of their previous historic home. Teaming up with contractor Mark Adams and architectural designer Gary Nance, Woodman set out to blend a classic ambiance with a modern touch.

Woodman focused on incorporating warm woods, metals, stone, and soft textiles like mohair, along with vintage furnishings to achieve a sense of earned comfort. With a family of eight, including six children, in mind, the 6,000 square feet home was designed to cater to both entertaining and privacy.

The exterior features a Tudor-inspired design for tradition, while the interior boasts Mediterranean influences for brightness. White plaster walls, arches, curves, and rounded shelving soften the angles and high ceilings, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The home includes stone fireplaces, a pink limewashed bedroom, a formal dining area, a reading/media room, and a unique shower that opens to the skies.

Woodman’s careful attention to detail blurred the lines between architectural elements, resulting in a home that feels both elegant and inviting. After almost four years of construction, the family finally moved in and was delighted by the intimate and energetic ambiance of their new abode.
