Blazer EV Sales Resume After Software Updates

General Motors has relaunched the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV after a temporary pause to address software issues. Scott Bell, vice president of global Chevrolet, expressed excitement about the model being available again with improved features, functionality, and a competitive price point, now eligible for the full consumer tax credit.

Initially, the Blazer EV received high praise, even being named SUV of the Year by MotorTrend. However, shortly after its release, reports of software glitches emerged, leading to the temporary halt in sales for quality control.

Now, GM has reduced prices for some Blazer EV models by approximately ,000 and confirmed eligibility for the federal government’s ,500 EV tax credit. Although the IRS has not updated its list yet, GM has made efforts to ensure qualification for the tax credit.

Prices for the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer start at ,595 for the LT rear-wheel drive (AWD) model and ,595 for the RS RWD model, with a mandatory ,395 destination charge. These prices do not include potential incentives and tax credits that buyers may be eligible for. GM’s reconfigured supply lines aim to make more models qualify for the EV tax credit in the future.
