‘Automotive Short Film Competition Takes to the Road at Newport Beach Film Festival’

Get ready to put the pedal to the metal, filmmakers! The Newport Beach Film Festival (NBFF) is thrilled to announce its very first Automotive Short Film Competition. If you have a passion for cars and a unique vision behind the wheel, this is your chance to shine.

Teaming up with automotive media expert Ant Anstead, NBFF is gearing up to take this competition to the next level. Anstead, known for his work on numerous TV shows and his love for storytelling and cars, is the perfect partner for this exciting venture.

“We are excited to collaborate with Ant Anstead,” said Gregg Schwenk, CEO and Executive Director of NBFF. “His extensive knowledge and passion for the automotive industry will bring a fresh perspective to our festival.”

Filmmakers are invited to create and submit short films inspired by the theme “For The Love Of Driving.” Whether you choose to craft a documentary, a scripted narrative, or shoot on any medium, the only requirements are that the film is between one and six minutes long and all content, including music, is royalty-free. Previously shared content is also accepted.

Submitted films have the opportunity to be featured on TV and online, providing a fantastic platform to showcase your work. The top ten finalists will have the chance to showcase their films at the Festival on October 18, 2024, followed by Q&A sessions and panel discussions with esteemed judges like Sung Kang (Fast & Furious franchise), Emelia Hartford (Gran Turismo), and Dan Mace (Chief Creative Officer for Beast Philanthropy).

If you have a passion project that fits the bill, submissions are open until July 14, 2024, with a reduced entry fee of .00 for this category. For more information and to submit your film, visit the NBFF website. This is your time to rev your creative engines and show the world your love for driving through the art of filmmaking.
