Astronauts from NASA visit elementary students in Montgomery County

Three NASA astronauts recently made a visit to Rolling Terrace Elementary School in Montgomery County, Maryland to share their experiences and knowledge about space exploration with the students. Frank Rubio, a physician and flight surgeon, Sultan Al Neyadi, the first United Arab Emirates astronaut to complete a 6-month mission on the International Space Station, and Stephen Bowen, the only astronaut to fly on consecutive space shuttle missions to the ISS, engaged with the students by talking about their adventures in space.

During the visit, the astronauts described the sensation of floating in space, answered student questions, and offered words of encouragement to always pursue their dreams. At the conclusion of their visit, they presented the school principal with framed photos of their missions and an American flag that had been in space. These items were to be displayed at the school as a constant reminder for the students to never give up on their aspirations.

The event was a memorable and inspiring experience for the students at Rolling Terrace Elementary School, showcasing the possibilities and excitement of space exploration. The visit from these accomplished astronauts left a lasting impression on the young minds, encouraging them to reach for the stars in their own pursuits.
