Approval of the Strategic Plan 2024-2026 by the Board of Trustees
The Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) is gearing up for a transformative period as it unveils its strategic plan for 2024-2026, approved by the esteemed Board of Trustees in their fourth meeting of the 2023/2024 academic year, under the leadership of Chairman Mattar Al Tayer.
This ambitious strategic plan is built upon five key pillars that will shape the future of the institution: enhancing institutional design and efficiency, enriching student experiences, expanding the range of programs and courses, reinforcing institutional identity, and building strategic partnerships. With a total of 29 initiatives and three transformational programs in the pipeline, HBMSU is set to make significant strides in its growth and development.
One of the key highlights of the strategic plan is the establishment of three new colleges through collaborations with both local and international partners, signifying HBMSU’s commitment to providing a diverse and comprehensive academic experience for its students. Additionally, the plan includes forming academic partnerships with international universities and technical collaborations with leading global companies, keeping in line with global advancements in technology, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing systems.
During the meeting, the Board also delved into the financial aspects of the plan, discussing the budget for the years 2025 and 2026, as well as various initiatives aimed at increasing revenues, improving branding, enhancing marketing strategies, and adopting innovative work methods to stay competitive and adapt to future trends. The independent auditor’s report for the year ending December 2023 was also carefully reviewed to ensure transparency and accountability within the institution.
Chairman Mattar Al Tayer underscored the Board’s dedication to advancing specialized educational and research programs, fostering creativity and innovation in the educational landscape, and solidifying HBMSU’s position as a frontrunner in smart education and innovation on a global scale. He emphasized the pivotal role of technology and artificial intelligence in driving digital transformation, enhancing operational efficiency, performance, and decision-making processes, and ultimately, enriching the overall customer experience.
