Anticipating increased traffic at London Stansted Airport during bank holiday and half-term period

London Stansted Airport is gearing up for a busy week ahead as thousands of travelers prepare to enjoy the upcoming bank holiday weekend and half-term break. With an estimated 430,000 passengers passing through the airport between May 25 and June 2, the airport is bustling with sun-seekers and city-breakers alike.

During the three-day weekend alone, nearly 150,000 individuals are expected to take flight, with a staggering 50,000 departing on Saturday, May 25. Added to the mix are the numerous international visitors opting to use Stansted as their entry point to the UK, bringing the total number of passengers over the half-term holiday to over 845,000.

Popular destinations for these vacationers include the Canary Islands, Turkey, Spain, Italy, and Dubai for those seeking sun, while cities like Dublin, Edinburgh, and Barcelona are favored for quick getaways. Jon Fowler, the Chief Operating Officer of London Stansted, emphasized the importance of allowing extra time for airport journeys and preparing for security checks to minimize any potential delays.

Exciting new routes are on offer this summer from London Stansted, including Royal Jordanian’s service to Amman, British Airways flights to Nice, Florence, and Ibiza, as well as additional options from Ryanair, Jet2.com, and Sun Express.
