Airline company announces intention to launch new route connecting Manila and Seattle
Philippine Airlines (PAL) is set to open a new route in the US to accommodate the increasing demand from passengers traveling to North America. The airline’s sales manager, Paolo Rene Diaz De Rivera, made the announcement during the Kapehan sa Dabaw on Monday morning, April 15, 2024, at SM Ecoland.
Starting October 2 this year, PAL will launch non-stop flights from Manila to Seattle, operating three times a week. This new route will join the existing destinations of Guam, Honolulu, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York. Rivera mentioned that Seattle is one of the destinations they are eyeing to serve in the near future.
The flights to Seattle will be operated using the Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, offering 380 seats across business and economy classes. Rivera revealed that they already have 800 booked passengers for flights to the US, emphasizing the high demand for these routes.
While there are no concrete plans yet, PAL is considering expanding its gateways not only in the US but also in other parts of the globe. The new route will operate every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, with departure times at 10:40 p.m. (PST) from Ninoy Aquino International Airport and 11:40 p.m. (Seattle local time) from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
This expansion presents PAL with the opportunity to promote Philippine island destinations to tourists and business visitors further. Passengers are encouraged to book early for low fares and ensure they check all booking requirements, especially for international travel.
