Za’abeel sets new record for longest cantilevered building

One Za’abeel, a iconic landmark in Dubai developed by ICD (Investment Corporation of Dubai), has recently been awarded the Guinness World Record title for the ‘Longest Cantilevered Building’ in the world with its stunning sky concourse, The Link.

The Link, spanning 230 meters in length, cuts through One Za’abeel’s skyscrapers 100 meters above the ground. Additionally, the record-breaking cantilever extends an impressive 67.277 meters beyond the main tower of the development. This remarkable feat of engineering, construction, and assembly was completed in two phases over a total of 16 days, all while ensuring there was no disruption to the four lanes of live traffic below.

During phase one of The Link installation, one of the heaviest lifts in the region took place. The steel structure, weighing over 8,500 tons, was lifted into place within 12 days using more than 110 special jacks and heavy-duty strand jacks. This required a collaborative effort from a team of global experts in construction, engineering, and contracting. Phase two involved the lifting of the 900+ ton cantilevered structure into place within four days.

Issam Galadari, director of One Za’abeel Holdings, expressed his excitement at The Link being recognized as an engineering and architectural marvel. He eagerly anticipates welcoming visitors to experience this luxurious and record-breaking skybridge for themselves.

Witness this impressive achievement and marvel at the breathtaking views by visiting One Za’abeel’s incredible sky concourse.
