‘Redressed Delivery Robot Unveiled by Hyundai and Kia’

Hyundai and Kia have unveiled an upgraded design for their DAL-e Delivery robot, building upon the model introduced in 2022. The latest design aims to enhance delivery performance in challenging locations such as offices and shopping malls.

The DAL-e Delivery robot is constructed for stability, featuring a square column shape and a low center of gravity. The automakers have incorporated sensors into a sleek “metal-like design,” providing a more premium feel to the robot’s service.

Equipped with four Plug & Drive (PnD) modules, the DAL-e Delivery robot includes a motor with steering, suspension, braking systems, and environmental recognition sensors. With the ability to reach speeds of up to four feet per second, the robot utilizes autonomous driving technology to navigate through congested areas while detecting obstacles and avoiding collisions with individuals. Additionally, an enhanced suspension system ensures that the robot’s cargo is adequately protected from bumps and impacts.

“DAL-e Delivery offers efficient and reliable F&B and parcel dispatch services to ensure timely delivery for customers,” stated Dong Jin Hyun, Vice President and Head of Robotics Lab at Hyundai Motor and Kia. “Our vision includes the implementation of infrastructure interworking across various spaces, including offices, restaurants, and shopping malls.”

The updated design of the DAL-e Delivery robot showcases Hyundai and Kia’s commitment to innovation and customer service in the field of robotics. Subscribe to our daily newsletters for more related content.
