Youth Council Holds Skills Day to Empower Employees of DEWA

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA)’s Youth Council, in collaboration with Skill Lab, pulled out all the stops to organize a jam-packed event in honor of World Youth Skills Day 2024 on July 15th. The event, attended by 55 bright young DEWA employees, was a clear statement of DEWA’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of talent. This initiative perfectly aligned with the National Youth Agenda 2031, which places a strong emphasis on empowering today’s youth and enhancing their skill sets for a brighter future.

The Skills Day event was not just your average run-of-the-mill gathering; it was a platform for young professionals to delve deep into technical workshops aimed at honing their competencies in various fields. As Aysha Mohammad Alremeithi, DEWA’s Youth Council President, rightly put it, the event was a testament to DEWA’s unwavering support for creating a conducive work environment that nurtures creativity and innovation among its young workforce.

“We support DEWA’s efforts to encourage youth to unleash their skills and creativity, providing them opportunities to innovate, excel, and gain new experiences,” Alremeithi proudly declared. She shed light on the Council’s comprehensive strategy, which revolves around five key pillars: values, national identity, continuous education, professional development, future accelerators, and innovation. It’s clear that DEWA is leaving no stone unturned in preparing its employees for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

The event garnered rave reviews from the participants, with many expressing their gratitude for the valuable experience. Fatma Hassan Mohammad Ahli, a Senior Engineer in Network Study – Power & Water Planning, praised the workshops for helping young employees uncover their hidden talents and share their experiences with the world. It was a platform where excellence shone through, thanks to the nurturing environment created by DEWA.

Aliya Mohammed AlMehairi, a Senior Accounts Officer in Finance, echoed similar sentiments, highlighting DEWA’s unwavering support in organizing activities that expand knowledge and skill sets. For her and many others like her, DEWA has been a guiding light in their professional growth and development.

But it was Sultan Bader Hussian Abdulla Albahri, an Engineer in Distribution Inspection – Distribution Power, who perhaps best encapsulated the essence of the event. He emphasized the importance of the diverse activities organized by DEWA’s Youth Council in providing skills that are not only beneficial professionally but also personally. This holistic approach to skill development sets DEWA apart as a forward-thinking organization that truly cares for its employees.

The event served as a glowing testament to DEWA’s deep-rooted commitment to grooming its young employees for success. By arming them with the necessary skills and knowledge, DEWA is ensuring that they are well-prepared to take on the challenges of today and tomorrow. This dedication to excellence is what sets DEWA apart as a global leader in the energy and water sector.

In conclusion, DEWA’s Youth Council deserves commendation for organizing such a well-thought-out event that not only celebrated the talents of its young employees but also provided them with a platform to grow and excel. With initiatives like these, DEWA is setting a stellar example for other organizations to follow in nurturing the talents of today’s youth. And as we look towards the future, it’s clear that DEWA’s young workforce is well-equipped to lead the charge towards global excellence and innovation.
