“6,330 inter-city trips planned for Eid Al Fitr holiday”

During the upcoming Eid Al Fitr holiday, the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has devised a secure transportation strategy for passengers traveling between cities on a daily basis. The plan includes an increase in the number of passenger journeys per day, with an estimated 6,330 excursions scheduled from April 9 to April 12 on all transit routes connecting cities.

Yousef Khamis Al Othmani, Chairman of Sharjah RTA, highlighted the emirate’s strategic position as a hub for various Arab and international visitors. Recognizing the growing demand for transportation services, particularly buses, the Authority has focused on enhancing transportation services by optimizing routes and prioritizing passenger comfort and safety.

To ensure a seamless experience for travelers during the holiday period, the Authority has assigned 789 buses to operate on transportation routes connecting different cities. Plans have been implemented to reduce bus intervals between cities, with intervals reduced to five minutes during peak hours on Eid day to prevent overcrowding and ensure efficient transit.

This initiative aligns with the Authority’s commitment to enhancing trip operating capacity and service quality for the public, aiming to provide convenient and flexible travel options that cater to the needs of transportation users in Sharjah. Additionally, proactive measures have been taken to increase the number of staff during the holiday period to manage passenger flow effectively at key stations such as Jubail Station.

As the SRTA continues its efforts to improve transportation services, the focus remains on delivering a seamless and safe travel experience for passengers during the festive season.
