Apple announced upgrades to its Safari browser during the WWDC 2024 event. The new features include Highlights, which uses AI to highlight relevant information on web pages, such as pulling up directions when an address is detected or surfacing links related to musicians, actors, or other notable figures.

Another upgrade is the new version of Reader, designed to reduce distractions while browsing. It will provide AI-generated summaries and even a table of contents for longer articles. Additionally, a feature called Viewer will prioritize videos on web pages and offer users the option to use macOS’ universal playback controls.
