The initiative was spearheaded by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, highlighting the emirate’s commitment to leveraging AI in government operations.
These Chief AI Officers will play a crucial role in implementing cutting-edge technology as part of Dubai’s vision to lead the development of AI globally. Moreover, this move further strengthens Dubai’s position in the Global AI Readiness Index, where it currently holds a spot in the top 10. The appointed Chief AI Officers come from a diverse range of government entities in Dubai, including the Dubai Police, Dubai Customs, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, and Dubai Health Authority, among others.
