‘2025 Dates and Call for Submissions for Pan African Film & Arts Festival’

The Pan African Film and Arts Festival (PAFF) has announced that the 33rd edition of the festival will be held from February 4-17, 2025, in Los Angeles. PAFF, known as America’s largest Black film festival, has been a platform for showcasing diverse Black creative works that challenge stereotypes and celebrate the African diaspora since 1992.

Each year, filmmakers from across the African diaspora are invited to share their stories at PAFF, sparking conversations and inspiring audiences worldwide. PAFF is committed to providing a space where Black voices are amplified and valued, with Black creatives taking center stage in their own narratives.

The 2025 Festival is currently open for submissions, with the early submission deadline set for May 31, 2024, and the final submission deadline on July 31, 2024. PAFF 2024, which featured over 200 films from 54 countries in 28 languages, emphasized diversity and inclusion, with 49% of the selected films directed by female, queer, or non-binary filmmakers.
