The United Way of Westchester and Putnam recently welcomed six new professionals to their Board of Directors. These community-minded individuals will serve alongside 24 existing board members for a three-year term.

The new board members include Ellen Bloom, Megan M. Hurley, Sean D. Maloney, Nina M. Patton, Laura C. Picone, and Matthew Saidman. Each of these individuals brings valuable skills and experience to the organization, and the Board chair, William Mooney III, expressed excitement about working with them.

Ellen Bloom, Director of Community Affairs at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in Westchester County, has a strong background in community service and serves on several Boards in the area. Megan M. Hurley, Senior Vice President, General Counsel at PepsiCo Beverages North America, has a legal background and has served on the Board of the YMCA of Central and Northern Westchester. Sean D. Maloney, Vice President of Marketing and Communications at MVP Health Care, brings marketing expertise to the board.

Nina M. Patton, Managing Director at Webster Bank, has extensive experience in not-for-profit banking, while Laura C. Picone, Vice President at TD Bank, is actively involved in various community organizations. Matthew Saidman, Regional Vice President at Mutual of America Financial Group, has a strong financial and accounting background.

The United Way of Westchester and Putnam is currently accepting applications for the Ruth Taylor Scholarships, with a submission deadline of June 3, 2024. The scholarships are awarded based on criteria such as financial need, public service, and scholastic capacity. Interested students can download the application and cover letter from the United Way website.
