‘110 Films from 31 Countries Featured in Ann Arbor Film Festival’

The Ann Arbor Film Festival (AAFF), established in 1963, holds the distinction of being the oldest avant-garde and experimental film festival in North America. Renowned as a premier platform for independent filmmakers and artists, the festival showcases extraordinary cinematic works that captivate audiences. This year, for the third time, the festival will be presented in a hybrid format, allowing selected filmmakers to reach global audiences from March 26 through April 7. The in-person component of the festival will be held in Ann Arbor, Michigan, from March 26 to 31.

The 62nd AAFF will be judged by three distinguished filmmakers: Su Friedrich, Deanna Morse, and Wenhua Shi. Each juror will curate a program showcasing their own work, which will also be available for online viewing.

Some of the highlights of the upcoming festival include:
– 2,971 film submissions from 92 countries
– 110 films in competition from 31 countries
– 10 featured films in competition
– 89 premieres, including 29 world premieres, 48 North American premieres, and 12 United States premieres
